Ballard County 4-H Club Information

For all clubs outside of school:
Please CALL the 4-H Office to sign up, 270-665-9118. Even if you were in a club last year, please let us know your plans to return. It helps us plan and have enough refreshments, supplies, etc.
After School 4-H clubs:
-Explorer’s Club is for 3rd-5th graders. They explore a variety of projects/subject matter that 4-H has to offer. ASHLEY HAYNES AND HOLLEY THOMPSON are the volunteer leaders. Meets on Second WEDNESDAY of each month from 3:20-4:30
-Cloverbuds are for K-2nd graders. They do a variety of topics usually seasonal/holiday related and will be showing the variety of projects 4-H has to offer. WE ARE LOOKING FOR A LEADER FOR THIS AGE GROUP!!!!
-Livestock Club is for all ages, K-12. Larry and Amanda Miller will be leading this club. Meets on Fourth TUESDAY of each month from 3:20-4:30
-Horse Club is for all ages, K-12. Kendra Cunningham will be the leader. Field trips are possible. Meets on the Third WEDNESDAY of each month but watch our facebook page for updates on times and fieldtrips!
-Cooking Club is for ages 10- 15 and must be pre signed up to come!
-Art Club is for ages 10-15 and must be pre signed up to come! (currently full)
-4th Grade Clubs
We have scheduled to do 4th grade clubs once per month in the school. I will begin on Wednesday, September 7. I look forward to being in the classroom for clubs and enrichment. .
5th Grade Clubs
We have scheduled to do 5th grade clubs in the classroom once per month in the school as well. I will begin on Friday, September 23. I look forward to being back in the 5th grade for the first time since March 2020.
Shooting Sports Club: Registration begins in early March! Will send out an update in a newsletter at a later date!
CAMP! JULY 8-11 2024 FOR AGES 9-15! Will begin taking camper registrations in January!
Enrichment and Special Interest
We will be having several enrichment and special interest opportunities for our Ballard students this coming year. We are bringing back Leadership, Reality Store and Truth and Consequences in the Middle School. We have some ag science classes for the 4th grade including The Science of Horses with a guest speaker from Lexington. We will be teaching for the Grace and Truth Co-op and 21st Century after school. As part of the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service and the College of Agriculture, Food and Environment, we get to partner with the schools for fun and educational programs!
